French cultural theorist Nicholas Bourriaud declares the death of postmodernism and the rise of altermodernism at the Tate Triennial. In contrast to modernism and postmodernism which are grounded in specific cultures or specific multi-culturalisms, altermodernist style creates art from a global foundation inspired by exponentially-advanced communication and information tools.
